“ONE HEALTH e-learning school science” (e-InnoEduCO2) belongs to the Erasmus + 2020 program in the KA226 modality for the 2021-2023 biennium.

It is led by the Concello de Outes and its Department of Pedagogy and Didactics and is coordinated by the Social Pedagogy and Environmental Education Research Group (SEPA-interea) of the USC led by Professor of Social Pedagogy

The project

E-INNOEDUCO2 (https://www.innoeduco2.org/) is a European project focused on innovation in climate change education. Its main goal is to help schools and educational communities prepare students to become active agents in the ecological transition, using STE(A)M education, digital learning tools and creative science communication. The project responds to two major challenges: the need to improve digital learning after the COVID-19 pandemic and the urgency of addressing climate change through education.

The project promotes an experiential approach where students learn about climate change, sustainability and ocean sciences through practical activities, fieldwork, digital laboratories and collaborative learning. It also connects with the United Nations’ Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development 2021–2030, highlighting the importance of ocean literacy and environmental awareness.

Its activities include the development of STE(A)M methodologies and e-learning technologies, such as an interactive digital laboratory, geolocated field-data exchange systems, data integration tools and virtual classroom environments. The project also provides teacher training, methodological guides, scientific and audiovisual learning materials, and an international One Health Campus for students’ initiation into research and communication.

The project outputs include a virtual classroom platform, a mobile science data-gathering tool, online courses, e-learning resources, teacher training materials, student training programmes and didactic resources for transferring scientific knowledge to society. These resources support both classroom learning and wider community engagement.

E-INNOEDUCO2 is carried out by an international partnership involving schools, universities, public institutions and research/technology centres from Spain, Portugal, Poland and Romania, including CESGA, the University of Santiago de Compostela, the University of Aveiro and other educational partners.
