Participation in FP Innova 2025
On March 26th, our department took part in the PF Innova 2025 event, organized by the Xunta de Galicia — a meeting focused on innovation and internationalization in Vocational Education and Training (VET).
At 6:45 PM, the roundtable titled “Innovation and Internationalization” took place, featuring our colleague María José Rodríguez Malmierca. During her talk, she presented the FabLabs project, in which our department is directly involved.

María José Malmierca’s presentation
Within this project, our main contribution is the design and development of a unit on “Introduction to Artificial Intelligence”, included as part of the training materials produced by the project. This unit is targeted at VET teachers and students, as well as FabLab users. It is conceived with a strong hands-on approach, aiming to introduce the fundamentals of AI in an accessible, useful, and applicable way — both in educational settings and in real projects developed within these innovation spaces.
María José’s presentation helped highlight the importance of AI in technical and vocational education, and she emphasized how our module contributes to the modernization of digital skills in the VET sector, offering concrete tools that can be used both in the classroom and in collaborative FabLab projects.
